Friday, February 1, 2019 is a Planning and Collaboration Day for Teachers. There is no school for students.

There's no school on Monday, January 21, 2019 due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The school will be closed.

Please join us on Saturday, January 26th, from 8:00-10:00 am for our Garden Workday! Volunteers need to bring appropriate footwear, water bottles and sunblock if needed. Light snacks and water will be provided as well as all required gloves and tools. If anyone wants to bring personal gloves and tools they are more than welcome to do so. We will be painting (if weather permits), so clothes need to be paint friendly. All students need to have an adult with them. No drop-offs please!

Thereʻs no school for students on Monday, January 7, 2019 but it is a work day for teachers. Students will return from break on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

We have been working on programming and robotics in our PLC classes. This week some of our groups participated in "Dance Party" - this year's Hour of Code activity.

On Friday, December 14th from 6 pm to 9 pm, please join us for our Winter Jubilee. Everyone is welcome! Come celebrate the holidays with winter themed family fun.

Baked good donations are needed - please bring your favorite treats, individually wrapped to the cafeteria on Friday 12/14 from 2-5:30 pm.
Book Swap - Bring a book to the event and swap it for a new read!
Food & Toy Drive - To benefit Maui United Way & the Maui Food Bank - please donate a new unwrapped toy for Maui's less fortunate kids and non-perishable food items.

Pu'u Kukui Leadership Day is an opportunity for students to improve leadership skills and share the 8 Habits with community members and families. Students will demonstrate skills in:

• hospitality
• music
• drama
• public speaking
• school spirt
• and more!

In addition, each class will be open for visitation. Who attends? Community and Parent guests by invitation only

Important reminders:

• Uniform is optional on Leadership Day
  
• Please go to bed by 8pm on December 6th and arrive at school by 7:30 on the 7th
  
• If your child has a special leadership role please support them in attending extra practices as well as practicing at home and having costumes/supplies prepared.
