Puʻu Kukui Elementary School is the newest school on the island of Maui, opening its doors to students in July of 2013. It is a LEED Gold accredited school with energy saving features. One of many features are the sun tunnels and light shelves which allow natural light into the classrooms. Classroom lights automatically adjust to the outside light to help save energy.
Our school derived its name from the peak of the West Maui Mountains and means "Hill of Enlightenment." At Puʻu Kukui we inspire a legacy of excellence by creating a safe, positive, and respectful learning ʻohana where we Believe, Lead, and Achieve. We are a Leader in Me School that promotes leadership practices among students, staff, and our community. We practice and live the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by providing as many opportunities for student leadership roles as possible.
When living the 7 Habits we practice Plus / Delta. Please let us know how we are doing or how we can help you with any questions or concerns.
